The most ancient love letter was found in Iran, it can be referred to the year of 2000 AD. A young man called Gimisa was in love with a young lady called Dasbuai, that was why he wrote a love message to her in which he asked her to meet with him. It took much patience and much force to write and to receive this kind of love letters as its weight was more than 16 kilograms!
Some love letters turn out to be very funny and amusing. One American lady kept in touch with a prisoner who served a sentence in Sing Sing. They liked each other more and more with every coming love letter. It looked rather funny. She is writing to him, 'Hello, my dear 887924! Let me call you just 887.'
And one more example of such love letters. Samuel Johnson, an English scientist of the 18th century, wrote a great number of love letters to his girlfriend before proposing to her. The last words in his last love letter were the following,' I'd like to be honest with you, so I'd like to tell you that my income is not very big and one of my relatives was hanged'. She wrote him back,' I'd love to be your wife. My income is not very big also. None of my relatives was hanged, but more that ten of them are worth it'.
