Russian women and books

Russia was always known as the country with the most amount of readers in it. But the time came passed and the situation has changed, most people are interested in their businesses and the earning of money now. But do they still read books? The main aim for the researchers was to get to know how many books the respondents read for last three months and what kind of books they had read.

It turned out that 11% of readers (or 7% of all respondents) haven't read any books for last three months.

Russian women like to read books Higher educational respondents prefer to read professional and scientific literature (27%), 24% usually read reference books, dictionaries and encyclopedias, 16% - classical Russian and foreign literature.

People that are younger than 35 years old prefer reference books (14%), and also 14% prefer "female romances" and foreign detectives. Russian citizens that are older than 50 like historical novels (11%), sometimes they read foreign and Russian detectives (10%). Books on housekeeping are also popular in this group of readers.

Russian women prefer to read "female romances" (21%). "Russian female detective" and "useful advice" are less popular among them (14%), they also read books connected with beauty, health and practical psychology.

The most of Russian men usually read Russian and foreign detectives and historical novels (more than 17%).

We can't compare these results with the earlier ones, but the situation is not so bad. Russian people like to read and do it rather often.
